Dr. Shehnaz Hussain | MBChB, ANZCCP

Clinic: Telehealth

Dr. Shehnaz Hussain is a compassionate and experienced physician with a diverse
background across psychiatry, emergency medicine, and general practice. Educated at The University of Auckland, she specializes in mind-body medicine, with interests in PMDD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, autoimmune conditions, and addiction.

Dr. Hussain's expertise extends to harm reduction strategies in medicinal cannabis use and to helping patients reduce their reliance on pharmaceuticals and opioids, guiding them toward low-dose, safe cannabis use. She views cannabis not only as a powerful medicinal plant but also as a spiritual tool, influenced by her upbringing in an Indian family immersed in Ayurvedic traditions. This foundation shapes her holistic approach to health, integrating emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.

Frustrated with the compartmentalisation of traditional Western medicine, Dr.
Hussain transitioned to cannabis medicine, seeking to engage in more meaningful,
root-cause conversations with her patients. Her patient-centred approach offers
compassionate care, empowering individuals with knowledge to make informed
decisions about their health.

In her spare time, Dr. Hussain is working on her second cookbook, engaging in
CrossFit, powerlifting, running, and traveling the world to immerse herself in different cultures.
