Here’s How it Works
1. Book a Consultation
The first step is to book a consultation with one of our qualified medical professionals. During this appointment, your doctor will discuss your medical history, symptoms, and potential treatment options, including whether medicinal cannabis may be appropriate for you.
2. Assessment & Approval
Your doctor will assess whether medicinal cannabis is a suitable treatment for your condition. If approved, they will issue a prescription that complies with New Zealand’s medicinal cannabis regulations.
3. Filling Your Prescription
Patients have the right to choose where to have their prescription filled. Let your doctor know during your consultation and have your prescription sent electronically to your preferred pharmacy.
We encourage you to explore the options available and select the pharmacy that best suits your needs. If you require guidance, our team is happy to assist you.
4. Follow-Up and Ongoing Care
We recommend regular follow-up consultations to ensure your treatment remains appropriate for your needs. These follow-ups help monitor effectiveness, adjust dosages if necessary, and address any questions you may have about your treatment.
Important Things to Remember When Choosing a Pharmacy
1. Stock Availability
Confirm first that they have your medication in stock or can order it for you.
2. Pricing
Make sure the price is acceptable to you.
3. Pharmacy Details
Provide us with the correct pharmacy name, mailing address, and email to avoid delays.
4. Repeats Check
Ask your pharmacy to confirm how many repeats you have left and ensure your scripts are active every time you pick up your medication.
5. If You Alternate Your Medications Monthly
Your script may only cover a one-month supply at a time, unless you have discussed your plan for alternating medication (including flower strains) over the 3-month period with your doctor during your consultation.
6. If You Use Consistent Medications
If you use the same medication (including flower strain) each month, your script will cover a 3-month supply. Visit your pharmacy to collect any repeats.
7. If You Request a New Medication
To request a new medication (including flower strain) outside of a consultation with your doctor, please email our clinical team.
